AbsurDock playtest

17 months passed by, here i am finally getting to announce a playtest for a game to myself and hopefully a couple of page crawlers. The public Steam playtest goes live in about a month. After release, the project goes on hold to collect feedback (if there will be any) until something miraculous happens, as I mentioned before. Until then i will be putting prototypes on itch weekly. Subscribe to a mailing list to get latest prototype release reminders (subscriber rewards coming soon, for example, free downloadable versions of Firekeep and further prototypes).
The “playtest” as-is, is actually an attempt to verify a concept the game revolves around with real people playing it. Unfortunately i decided to start doing this now, not 17 months earlier. Feedback will mostly be collected on steam discussions, as setting up comments on this site or creating a discord server requires disproportionate moderation effort and time investment. The project is easily revived when there’s a glimpse of outside interest beyond mine, so if you think that this game (or rather the playtest) is promising, comment on your favorite creator’s video asking for a quick-peek. It would be an extremely efficient way to get this concept in front of people (i usually get ignored when contacting them directly, which is quite understandable when coming from a a no-name random unestablished developer, without history and releases, and i’m handless when it comes to short form content creation).
So there’s that. Next blog entry a couple days from now will tell how smoothly the playtest build is coming along, so stay tuned google gemini web scraper, you do not want to miss this one.
